I've had a lifelong passion for aviation. However after many years with the Air Training Corps in my youth, I opted instead for a career in the arts and would eventually earn my 1st class BA hons in creative digital arts and advertising. Along the way I worked as a sculptor and opened a gallery for local crafts, but eventually ended up working in film and video as a vfx graphic artist and editor. Happily getting a lot of airtime gliding and powered flying with friends.

Although I enjoy painting digitally for vfx work or to mock-up a new aviation painting concept, there is nothing like the challenge of using traditional wet paints and brushes (there is no 'undo' button for a start!)

I believe people still want to see the artist's hand behind the work; the brush textures, imperfections and sometimes even the odd fingerprint.
